Through the course of the investigation, Homicide detectives learned that suspects Anthony Joseph Nino, an 18-year old Latin male, and Juan Nava, a 21-year old Latin male, were responsible for the killing of the victim, Ivan Garcia.  On Friday, June 26, 2020, suspects Nava and Nino were arrested and transported to the Homicide Unit.  They gave voluntary statements, and after the interviews, they were transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with murder.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020, at approximately, 1:23 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at the Villas De Tesoso Apartments located at 7945 Villa Cliff Drive.  Officers arrived and found the victim, Ivan Garcia, a 17-year old Latin male, lying on the 2nd floor of the breezeway with multiple gunshot wounds.  Dallas Fire paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.  The witness was transported to headquarter, and homicide detectives interviewed him.
