On Monday, June 15, 2020, at approximately 2:17 p.m., a witness dialed 911 after observing the suspect, Gavin McFarland, a 19-year old White male, with a handgun by the victim, William Kelly Duncan, a 48-year old White male, who fell to the ground at the 1200 block of Holcomb Road.  Officers arrived and found the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.  Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was placed on life support.  At 8:11 p.m., the suspect was arrested by patrol officers and transported to the Homicide Unit, where he refused to provide a voluntary statement. 

On Friday, June 19, 2020, the victim died from his injuries, and the suspect was charged with murder.  A magistrate will set his bond.
