Arrest Made in Homicide Westmoreland Road

Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined that suspect, Jonathan Page, a 29-year old Black male, was responsible for the killing of the victim, Xavier Dwayne Brooks, a 23-year old Black male.  On Friday, June 19, 2020, the U.S. Marshal North Texas Fugitive Taskforce located and arrested suspect Page.  He was transported to the Homicide Unit, where he refused to give a voluntary statement.  After the interview, suspect Page was transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with murder.  A magistrate will set his bond.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at approximately 9:13 pm a known suspect approached the complainant who was standing with a group of people in the parking lot at 3033 S. Westmoreland Road. The suspect fired two rounds from a shotgun striking complainant Brooks. The suspect then fled the location. Complainant Brooks ran from the offense location to the Westwood Apartments and collapsed. He was transported to Charlton Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 9:39 pm.
