On Thursday, July 9, 2020, at approximately 2:45 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call that occurred at the 7-Eleven store located at 9351 LBJ Freeway Service Road. Upon arrival, officers entered the store and found the victim, Johnson M. Mdoe, a 43-year old black male, lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was placed on life support.
On Friday, July 10, 2020, the victim, Mdoe, died from his injuries, and the Homicide Unit has upgraded the charge to a Capital Murder. The investigation is ongoing, and no one is in custody.

Original Post: On July 9, 2020, at about 2:45 a.m., an unknown black or Latin male, approximately 5’9” and 150 pounds, the suspect entered the 7-Eleven, located at 9351 LBJ Service Road. The suspect pulled out a pink handgun and stole money, cigars and lottery tickets. The suspect then shot the victim and fled the location on foot. The victim is currently in grave condition in a local hospital.
