During the investigation, the Homicide Unit determined that suspect Jeffrey Alan Scott, a 35-year old black male, was responsible for the homicide of the victim Jennifer Hickmon and a murder warrant was issued for his arrest. On Thursday, July 16, 2020, suspect Scott was arrested in San Marcos, Texas, by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force and Texas DPS. He was transported to the Hays County Sheriff’s Department jail, where Dallas P.D. Homicide detectives interviewed him. The suspect was read his Miranda warning rights, and he gave a voluntary statement admitting to the murder of the victim, Jennifer Hickmon. Suspect Scott has been charged with murder and remains in jail pending his transfer to the Dallas County jail.

On Sunday, July 12, 2020, at approximately 7:55 a.m., Dallas police were investigating a health and welfare check call of the victim, Jennifer Hickmon, a 37-year old black female, at 6633 Happy Trails Drive. Officers made entry and found the victim deceased from homicidal violence. The investigation is still ongoing.
