Arrest Made in the Homicide on Clarendon Drive

Through the course of the investigation, the Homicide Unit determined the suspect, Anthony Davante Scott, an 18-year old black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim, Taisha Carter.  On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, Dallas police arrested suspect Scott, and he was taken to the Homicide Unit where detectives interview him.  Suspect Scott was read his Miranda warning, and he declined to give a voluntary statement.  After the interview, he was transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with Murder.

On Thursday, May 28, 2020, at approximately 6:02 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 520 East. Clarendon Drive.  Upon officers’ arrival, they were directed to the victim, Taisha Carter, a 20-year old black female, location, and found her lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds.  Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim and witness to an area hospital.  The victim was pronounced deceased, and the witness was treated for her injuries.
