Homicide on Brockbank Drive

Update March 24, 2021 at 8:45 p.m.

On March 24, 2021, the Dallas Police Department arrested Anthony Acosta, a 28-year-old White male, for the murder of Ricardo Espinoza that occurred on July 22, 2020. Acosta was taken to Dallas Police Headquarters and interviewed by a detective with the Homicide Unit. He was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with murder, a felony of the first degree. His bond will be set by a Dallas County Magistrate.

On July 22, 2020, at 2:45 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 9500 block of Brockbank Drive. Upon arrival, they located the victim, Ricardo Espinoza, a 32-year-old Latin male, who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital by Dallas Fire and Rescue, where he was later pronounced deceased. Witnesses at the location described the suspect as a light-skinned male between 30 and 40 years of age, approximately 5’ 8”, 180lbs, and possibly balding. The suspect was wearing a white shirt and black cargo shorts.
