Northeast Division Senior Wellness & Safety Relief

The Northeast Division held their annual Senior Wellness & Safety Relief event today. The event has been held yearly to provide services to the senior members of our community who are ages 55 or better. The pandemic created some challenges this year, but the Northeast Neighborhood Patrol Officers (NPO) were not going to let the senior community go without their essential needs.

The Lake Pointe Church (White Rock Campus) hosted the event in their parking lot. Due to the pandemic, the event was held as a drive-thru where seniors lined up in their vehicle while officers wearing masks and gloves placed the relief box in their vehicle. They were also provided with a boxed lunch from Jason’s Deli.

Major Arredondo, commander of the Northeast Division, stated, “We want to make sure that our senior community doesn’t feel like they are forgotten or left out. We want to do what we can to help.”

Senior relief boxes included the following essentials:

  • Masks
  • Sanitizer
  • Toilet tissue
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Protein bars
  • First aid kits
  • Gloves
  • Mosquito repellent

Senior attendee, Ms. Charmain said, “It’s hard to find some of these items that are being provided, and I truly appreciate the help. This is a great thing that is being done.”

The event was a huge success with over 300 seniors arriving to accept the essential items. The Northeast Patrol Division wants to express their appreciation to all the volunteers and sponsors who helped make this event possible.
