On Friday, July 24, 2020, Curtis Blackwell, a 48-year-old White Male was arrested and transported to Dallas Police Headquarters where he was interviewed by detectives after waiving his Miranda rights. During the course of the interview, he admitted his role in this offense. He was placed in jail for capital murder. A second suspect, Martell Lamar Edwards pictured below remains at large.

On July 7, 2020, at approximately 7:22 p.m., Dallas police responded to a disturbance call at 5004 Military Parkway involving the victim Clark Thomas, a 68-year-old Black male. The victim was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown suspect(s). During the altercation, the victim sustained head trauma and was transported to an area hospital. On July 17, 2020, the victim died from his injuries.
