On July 31, 2020, at about 5:00 PM, the suspect vehicle pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle on Buckner Blvd near John West Rd. The suspects shot into the victim’s vehicle and fatally injured the complainant. The suspects then fled the location in the suspect vehicle.
- Suspect Vehicle: silver-colored SUV
- Suspect 1: black male, goatee. He was last seen wearing a red Houston Rockets baseball cap.

On Sunday, August 2, 2020, at approximately 10:36 p.m., the victim died from his injuries at an area hospital. This offense has been reclassified from an aggravated assault to murder as a result of his death.

On Friday, July 31, 2020, at approximately 5:06 p.m., Dallas police responded to 3200 N. Buckner Boulevard regarding a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers observed a white Mercury Grand Marquis, with several bullet holes, stationary in the northbound lanes on North Bucker. Officers found the victim, Willie Earl Wright, a 28-year old Black male, sitting in the driver’s seat unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital, where he remains on life support.
