Arrest Made: In the Homicide Investigation of Melissa Hite

On August 11, 2020, at 6:49 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a call at 9801 Adleta Court, the Studio 6 Motel, after the suspect, Melissa Hite, a 50-year-old white female, called 911 and indicated that she had stabbed the victim, Ronnie Cash, a 58-year-old white male, with whom the suspect had an intimate dating relationship. Officers arrived and located the victim, who was transported to an area hospital by Dallas Fire and Rescue and was later pronounced deceased. The suspect was interviewed by detectives and admitted to stabbing the victim. She was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with murder, a felony of the first degree. Her bond will be set by a Dallas County magistrate.
