Arrest Made: in the Homicide Investigation of Alfredo Navarrete

On August 17, 2020, Dallas Police arrested Alexis Carrasco, a 17-year-old Latin female, and a 15-year-old Latin male for the murder of Alfredo Navarrete, which occurred on August 14, 2020. Carrasco was interviewed by a detective with the Homicide Unit and admitted to her involvement in the offense. She was subsequently transported to Lew Sterrett Jail. The juvenile arrestee was transported to the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center. Both have been charged with capital murder, a capital felony.

On August 14, 2020, at 11:00 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting at the 1300 block of Celeste Drive. Witnesses reported that a Latin male in his 20s with short, dark hair shot the victim, Alfredo Navarette, an 18-year-old Latin male, and then fled the location in a newer model black SUV, possibly a Mitsubishi. Dallas Fire and Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
