Carjackers Arrested by Project Safe Neighborhood Officers

On August 27, 2020, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Dallas officers assigned to Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN) located a vehicle that was associated with an aggravated robbery that occurred in the 9200 block of Skillman Street. The victim in this offense was robbed at gunpoint and beaten very badly, which required medical treatment for serious injuries.

Undercover officers located the vehicle traveling on Wintergreen Road in Lancaster. Uniformed officers were notified by dispatch and initiate a traffic stop. However, the suspect fled in the vehicle and subsequently wrecked out in an open field. The suspects were apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

A second stolen vehicle was located by officers assigned to PSN that was taken in a carjacking in the northeast area of Dallas. During this incident, undercover officers observed the stolen vehicle become occupied by a male and female suspect. Officers were able to take the two suspects into custody without incident. A gun was recovered from this investigation.

When PSN officers returned to a residence in the 1400 block of Brook Meadow Circle, they observed a third vehicle that they learned was taking in a carjacking. The homeowner of the residence gave officers consent to conduct a search where they recovered a second gun.

During questioning, Curtis Christmas admitted to the aggravated carjacking that occurred on Skillman Street, which is located in the Project Safe Neighborhood area.

The investigation into these offenses was lengthy and very dangerous. All of the officers involved did an outstanding job in helping take these violent criminals off the streets. The following is a result of their hard work:
