On September 4, 2020, at 10:10 a.m., Dallas Police responded to 8900 Park Lane, the Ivanhoe Apartments, after the suspect Jerry Ford, a 58-year old black male, called 911 and indicated that he had killed someone at the location. Officers arrived and found the victim, Nicole McChriston, a 40-year-old black female, deceased from homicidal violence. The suspect was located in Mesquite and an officer involved shooting occurred by Dallas police officers during his apprehension. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment and is in stable condition. The suspect will be charged with murder, a felony of the first degree. His bond will be determined by a Dallas County Magistrate.
