During the investigation, homicide detectives determined that Filiberto Monico Gonzalez, a 28-year old Latin male, and Valentino Deleon, a 32-year old Latin male, were responsible for the murder of the Manuel Castillo, a 34-year old Latin male, who was identified by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office. On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, suspects Gonzalez and Deleon were arrested by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force. Suspects Gonzalez and Deleon were charged with murder, and a Dallas County magistrate will set their bond.

On Monday, September 7, 2020, at approximately 11:04 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at the French Colony Apartments located at 1235 Hartsdale Drive. Officers found the unidentified victim inside a white Jeep Cherokee unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Since the victim did not have an identification card, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office will attempt to identify him through fingerprints analysis.
