DPD Releases Body-Worn Camera Footage of Shooting Involving Officers and Marcus Deray White

A shooting incident involving Dallas Police Officers and a suspect named Marcus Deray White occurred September 17, 2020, at 3332 Webb Chapel Extension in northwest Dallas. Mr. White was not injured and is currently in Lew Sterrett Jail. In an effort to be transparent, the Dallas Police Department is releasing the body-worn camera footage of the incident. Chief Reneé Hall and Tonya McClary who serves as the monitor of The Office of Community Police Oversight has reviewed the video. The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office is conducting an independent investigation. In the meantime, the officer who discharged his weapon is currently on administrative leave, per departmental policy, and will remain on administrative leave pending the completion of the department’s protocol and administrative review.
