Dallas College Police Department Officer Involved Shooting

The subject involved in this incident has died from his injuries. He has been identified as 25-year-old Reginald Alexander Jr. His next of kin has been notified. The officer has been released from the hospital.

On November 5, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Dallas College police officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle at the corner of Elm Street and Pacific Avenue. During the investigation, an adult male subject was determined to have an outstanding warrant. Officers attempted to take the subject into custody when he produced a handgun. There was an exchange of gunfire between the officers and the suspect. The suspect was struck and transported to an area hospital. A Dallas College officer was also stuck and transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.  This investigation is being conducted by the Dallas Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit. The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office responded to the location to conduct their own independent investigation. Further details will be released when they become available.
