Homicide Investigation at 2154 Fort Worth Avenue

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the unknown victim as Daniel Williams Slusser, a 60-year-old White male. Through the course of the investigation, Homicide Detectives determined that suspect Adelaido Amaya Esparza, a 57-year old Latin male, was responsible for killing the victim.  On Monday, November 24, 2020, suspect Esparza was arrested for murder, and officers transported him to the Dallas County Jail.  A Dallas County magistrate will set his bond amount.

On Friday, November 20, 2020, at approximately 8:40 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to 2154 Fort Worth Avenue, regarding a health and welfare check call.  Upon arrival, officers observed an unknown White male lying on the ground unresponsive.  Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased from homicidal violence. Since the victim did not have an identification card, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office will assist in the investigation by identifying him through fingerprints analysis.
