Arrest Made: Homicide Investigation at 1958 Las Cruces Lane

Through the course of the investigation, Homicide Detectives determined that suspect Julius Ray Nichols, a 37-year old black male, was responsible for killing the victim.  On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, suspect Nichols was arrested for murder. Officers transported him to the Dallas County Jail.  A Dallas County magistrate will set his bond amount.

On Saturday, January 2, 2021, at approximately 1:17 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 1958 Las Cruces Lane.  The victim Antheley Matthew Hollins, a 51-year old black male, was shot multiple times, and he was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.  The investigation remains active and ongoing, and anyone with information to contact Detective Derick Chaney at 214-671-3650 or via email: derick.chaney@dallascityhall.com.  Please refer to case #000937-2021.
