Homicide on Elk Creek Road

On March 3, 2021, at approximately 1:20 AM, Dallas Police officers responded to the 1500 block of Elk Creek Road regarding a shooting. The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived they found Jason Izaguirre, 20, shot in the backyard of the home. He died at the scene.

The investigation determined the victim and a witness had just arrived home when an unknown suspect approached them and began shooting, hitting the victim. The suspect left in an unknown direction. The investigation determined there was a letter written (pictured below) and left on the back of a vehicle parked in the driveway after the shooting.

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Southeast Patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 1521 Elk Creek Road. The victim, Jason Izaguirre, a 20-year old Latin male was found in the backyard of his residence with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and the motive is unknown at this time.
