The first female officer employed with the Dallas Police Department was Captain Eva Farley. Captain Farley was hired on February 22, 1896. Since then, the Department has made great efforts to continue its hiring of outstanding women.
With the month of March being designated as Women’s History Month by Presidential proclamation, the Dallas Police Department will be honoring a few of the many great women who serve the City of Dallas. We will be releasing a weekly video series featuring sworn and non-sworn employees throughout the month of March. Therefore, please stay tuned for our first video which will be posted on the Dallas Police Department’s Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/DallasPD) and Twitter account (@DallasPD).
