On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 4:40 p.m., Dallas police responded to a health and welfare check call at 10406 Checota Drive.  Officers found the victim Mateo Jovani Hernandez, a 21-year old Latin male, sitting in the driver’s seat unresponsive.  Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and discovered a single gunshot wound to his upper chest.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.  There are currently no suspects identified or apprehended.  The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
