Homicide on Audelia Road

During the investigation, the Homicide Unit determined that suspect Damontray Lavell Tavonne Handy, a 20-year old black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim.  On Monday, May 24, 2021, the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested the suspect and transported him to the Dallas County Jail, where he has been charged with murder.  A magistrate will set his bond amount.

 On April 11, 2021, at approximately 10:35 a.m., the suspect shot and killed the victim at 12920 Audelia Road. The suspect has been identified as Demontray Lavell Tavone Handy (pictured above). Handy should be considered armed and dangerous. On Sunday, April 11, 2021, at approximately 10:37 a.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the parking lot at 12920 Audelia Road.  The victim Rquon Deshon Travis, a 20-year old black male, was found in his apartment lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds.  Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
