On April 25, 2021, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Dallas police officers responded to a shooting call at 4300 Duncanville Rd. According to witnesses, street racers had shut down the intersection at the location when an unknown suspect began firing a handgun. The victim, Lynetta Washington, a 54-year-old Black female, was walking down the street when she was struck by gunfire. Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
