On May 16, 2021, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Ricardo Navarro-Carvajal, shot Doris Ramirez at a social gathering. Ms. Ramirez died as a result of her injuries.  The suspect fled in his vehicle, a 2008 black Dodge Ram truck. He was last seen wearing a light-colored dress shirt, blue jeans and had close cut hair.

On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at approximately 2:32 a.m., Dallas police responded to a 2007 E. 8th Street regarding a shooting call. Upon arrival, officers learned that Doris Ramirez, a 33-year old Latin female, was transported to a local hospital for a gunshot wound. On Monday, May 17, 2021, at approximately 3:35 p.m., the victim died at the hospital from her injuries. The motive and circumstances surrounding the murder are under investigation.
