10th Annual Carry the Load-2021

Over the Memorial Day weekend, thousands gathered in Dallas’ Reverchon Park to honor fallen service members and first responders for the 10th Annual Carry the Load. The Carry the Load Dallas Memorial March is a two-day event that helps raise money for the organization’s Continuum of Care partners. The event was founded by two former Navy SEALs as a way to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day and to fund support programs for the military, first responders, and their families.

The run/march began on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. and ended on Monday, May 31, 2021, with participants wrapping up their overnight run. This two-day event also featured music, patriotic speeches, and stories honoring fallen heroes. Our very own Chief of Police Eddie Garcia and other speakers were on hand to inspire and motivate the many participants. They reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by those who have served, from members of the Armed Forces to First Responders, on a daily basis by putting their lives on the line for people they will never know. Several Dallas officers participate in the walk to honor and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in serving the City of Dallas. The most recent being Sergeant Bronc McCoy and Police Officer Mitchell Penton.
