Today, the Greater Dallas Korean American Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2021 DPD Appreciation & Scholarship Award Luncheon.
This annual event is held in appreciation of the Dallas Police Department for its outstanding work in the Korean community. As a gesture of gratitude, the Greater Dallas Korean American Chamber of Commerce also awards scholarships to high school graduates of Dallas Police employees.
This year, the luncheon was held at the Sura Korean Bistro and was presented by various speakers, which included President H.K. Kim, President of Greater Dallas Korean American Chamber of Commerce. Chief Garcia congratulated the recipients by encouraging them to continue their excellent academic achievements.
The 2021 scholarship award recipients were Kolbi Coleman, Adriana Davila, Melany Esparza, Jenna Garcia, Kyla Jackson, Gabriella Munoz, and Kateryna Tkachuk. Congratulations 2021 Graduates!
Also, this year the Greater Dallas Korean American Chamber of Commerce honored Sergeant Brownie Cranford, Senior Corporal David Kim, and Police Officer Bervin Smith, Sr. with the 2021 Community Excellence Award.
