On June 11, 2021, at 11:45 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call in the 8000 block of Leigh Ann Drive regarding an armed and uniformed security officer being shot. Upon the officer’s arrival, they observed the security officer, a 71-year-old male victim, to have sustained a gunshot wound to the hand.

The victim informed the officers that five unknown suspects attempted to take his weapon. When the victim resisted, he was shot by one of the suspects. The suspects then fled after the shooting. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The offense is documented on case number 103512-2021.
