Arrest Made in the Homicide on Botham Jean Boulevard

Through their investigation, Homicide Detectives determined that suspect Joseph Lynn Sneed Jr., a 27-year old Black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim, Kevin Renard Winston. On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, the suspect was arrested and transported to the Homicide Unit where detectives interviewed him. The suspect was then transported to the Dallas County Jail where he was charged with murder. A Dallas County magistrate will set his bond amount.

On Friday, June 18, 2021, at approximately 11:49 P.M., Dallas officers responded to a shooting call at 4900 Botham Jean Boulevard. Kevin Renard Winston, a 54-year old Black male, was found in his vehicle with a gunshot wound. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
