During the follow-up investigation, the Homicide Unit determined that suspects Kejuan Lewis, a 17-year old Black male, and Taqualon Jones, a 19 -year old Black male, participated in the murder of the victims.
On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, suspect Lewis and Jones were arrested by The U.S. Marshal North Texas Fugitive Task Force. The suspects declined to give a voluntary statement and were transported to the Dallas County Jail, where they were charged with Capital Murder. A magistrate will set their bond. This is still an active and ongoing investigation.

The victims of the homicide at 8300 Towns Street have been identified as 22-year-old Alvin Ray Murray III, 19-year-old Hassan Blazer, and 17-year-old Mi’quarius Alexander. Two additional Black male victims ranging in age from 19-22 years old suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A third victim with non-life-threatening injuries came forth, totaling six gunshot wound victims.

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 11:11 p.m., officers responded to an active shooter call at 8300 Towns Street in Hamilton Park. When officers arrived, they discovered five individuals shot. All five shooting victims were transported to area hospitals where three of the adult males, were pronounced deceased. The identities of the deceased victims will not be released until detectives have made the next of kin notification. There are currently no suspects identified or apprehended. The motive and circumstances surrounding the murder are under investigation.
