On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at approximately 7:45 pm, Dallas officers responded to a shooting call at 3147 Easter Ave.  Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, Demarkus Curtis a 29-year-old Black male, shot inside his SUV.  An unknown Black male was seen getting out of the victim’s vehicle and fleeing the scene in a newer model silver or champagne-colored large SUV, possibly a Cadillac Escalade or a Suburban.  Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  This is an active and ongoing investigation with no suspect in custody.  The motive and circumstances around this investigation are unclear.
