On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as Robert Joe Frazier, a 51-year old black male.

On Sunday, July 18, 2021, at approximately 11:27 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call at 1209 E. Ninth Street.  Officers found the unidentified victim shot multiple times in the front yard, and Dallas Fire-Rescue transported him to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.  During the investigation, the Homicide Unit determined that suspect Johnny Hernandez, a 25-year old Latin male, was responsible for the shooting.  He was taken into custody and declined to give a voluntary statement to detectives.  After the interview, suspect Hernandez was transported to the Dallas County Jail, where he was charged with murder.  A magistrate will set his bond.  

The name of the victim will be released once the Dallas Co. Medical Examiner’s office confirmed his identity, and the next of kin has been notified.
