Make Someone Smile Week

On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., the Dallas Police Department in partnership with McShan Florist and Teleflora, participated with hundreds of florists nationwide in efforts to surprise community members with a cheerful “Be Happy Bouquet” floral arrangement.

McShan Florist delivered close to one hundred arrangements to the Dallas Police Department Headquarters this morning. Several officers lined up in front of police headquarters collecting their beautiful floral arrangements and were excited that they were going to brighten someone’s day.

Sonia Cordiva, Director of The Light House Learning Center said, “I am very grateful for the arrangement. I am a firm believer that the community and the police department should always be working together.”

The “Make Someone Smile” event was organized through the Office of Community Affairs. They coordinated with the Neighborhood Police Officers from all the divisions to deliver floral arrangements throughout the city.

“This was a great event and it was a pleasure to be able to make someone’s day with a bouquet of flowers,” said Sergeant Eddie Reyes, who supervises the Unidos program.

Through the generous donations from McShan’s Florist and Teleflora, the department was able to join this nationwide campaign to deliver nearly 100 floral arrangements.  Smiles were seen by all who participated, especially those on the receiving end.
