Community Trail Ride – Back to School event

The Dallas Police Department proudly announces, straight from the horse’s mouth, the inaugural Dallas Police Mounted Unit Community Trail Ride and Back to School Bash. The event is Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 300 E. Reunion Blvd.

This event features a 3.8-mile horse ride with members of the Dallas Police Department’s Mounted Unit, along with community members who bring their own stallions, to take a mapped ride through downtown Dallas. Riders will meet at 700 Sports Street to get checked in.

The cost for riders is $25 each; however, if you’re 8-18 years old, it’s free.  The proceeds will be donated to the Dallas Police Department Mounted Unit Scholarship Fund and the Dallas Police Youth Foundation. Riders must provide a negative Coggins test result for the horse and all riders must register at https://dallaspdmountedcommunitytrailride.eventbrite.com.

For more information contact Senior Corporal Tracy Morgan at (469) 233-7530 or tracy.morgan@dallascityhall.com.

But hold your horses, this is a community affair, and everyone’s invited, even if you don’t have a stallion of your own. This back-to-school bash is a family-friendly function including various youth activities, food trucks, prizes, giveaways, music, and more. Vendors will be on-site and officers and community members alike will be able to engage in activities and enjoy one another’s conversation.
