On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at approximately 10:03 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at the Hampton Terrace Apartments located at 5018 South Hampton Road. Officers found the victim L.T. Thornton, Jr., a 69-year old black male, lying on a couch in the living room of his apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced him deceased at the scene. The motive and circumstances surrounding this murder are under investigation. There are currently no suspects in custody.
