On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at approximately 6:42 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 9000 block of Vantage Point Drive. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Daylan Burns, a 22-year-old Black male, shot multiple times inside his vehicle. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The motive and circumstances surrounding the murder are still under investigation.
