Arrest Made in Homicide on Cedar Haven Avenue

On Saturday, July 24, 2021, at approximately 1:15 p.m., Dallas police responded to a call for service at 1200 Cedar Haven Avenue.  Officers found a body of a black male inside an open hole dug for construction, and Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.  The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office field agent took custody of the victim Terence Kenyon Turner, a 38-year old black male. The Homicide Unit initially investigated the incident as an unexplained death pending the autopsy findings. 

On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office ruled the victim’s death as a homicide.

On Thursday, August 26, 2021, the Homicide Unit has arrested suspect Byron Demond Arnold, a 42-year old black male.  Detectives interviewed suspect Arnold, and he refused to give a voluntary statement.  He has been transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with murder.  A magistrate will set his bond.
