Citizens Police Academy 48th Class Kick-Off

On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, the Dallas Police Citizens Police Academy (CPA) began its 48th class since the program’s inception.   The 30 participants will complete a 6-week academy program at the Bachman Recreation Center. Chief Martinez along with Community Affairs Manager Munoz welcomed the first class of this year (2021) and expressed appreciation for their time and commitment to this program. “This class is a great opportunity for our department to show you, how your investment into us has paid off,” Executive Assistant Chief Martinez. During the academy, the class members will be educated about the various functions of a patrol officer, the use of force, the role of the Internal Affairs Unit, tactical units, and the investigations of crimes. What they will learn will not only benefit the participants, but, once shared with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers, it could have a significant impact on police and community relations. Officers and citizens untied for the good of all!
