Update: December 15, 2021
Through the course of the investigation, Homicide Detectives determined that suspect Darius Lamar Waters, a 32-year old Black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim. On Monday, December 13, 2021, the suspect was arrested and transported to the Homicide Unit where detectives interviewed him. The suspect was then transported to the Dallas County Jail where he was charged with murder. A Dallas County magistrate will set his bond amount.

The below-pictured individual, 32-year-old Darius Lamar Waters is wanted for the homicide on 52nd Street. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

On Sunday, November 14, 2021, at approximately 12:22 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call at 2121 52nd Street. Upon arrival, officers did not locate anyone shot in the parking lot. A short time later the victim showed up at an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The motive and circumstances surrounding the murder are still under investigation. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
