Parker University, Council Member Willis, and NW NPO Unit Deliver Thanksgiving

When the police knock on your door, you would never think it would be to deliver you a box of food for Thanksgiving dinner. Today, the Northwest Neighborhood Neighborhood Patrol Unit delivered boxes to families in the Northwest Patrol Division.

The families chosen for the deliveries were identified by members of the community and the local schools. A total of 50 boxes were delivered.

“It’s the great work done by the Northwest Police Unit and our donors who help make giving back to the community a success. We appreciate our officers, volunteers, and donors for all that they do to help us make a difference,” said Assistant Chief Angela Shaw.

Donors for the event were Parker University and Council-member Gay Donnell Willis from District 13. Families received a turkey and some fixings to prepare a hearty Thanksgiving meal. On hand to help with the deliveries were Floyd McLendon, Director of Institutional Advancement for Parker University, volunteers from Comadres Unidas de Dallas y Mas, and Assistant Chief of Police Angela Shaw.

The Dallas Police Department and the members of the Northwest Police Neighborhood Unit would like to wish all the families a Happy Thanksgiving. A big thank you is given to the donors and volunteers who helped make the event a success.
