Through their investigation, Homicide Detectives determined that suspect Jemal Davis, a 25-year old Black male, was responsible for the murder of the victim. On Wednesday, December 15, 2021, the suspect was arrested and transported to the Homicide Unit where detectives interviewed him. The suspect was then transported to the Dallas County Jail where he was charged with murder. A Dallas County magistrate will set his bond amount.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Dallas Police responded to 2880 Peavy Road regarding a shooting call.  The victim, 33-year-old Mario Mena-Lopez was found at the apartment complex parking lot with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. The motive and circumstances surrounding the murder are still under investigation. Below are two videos of a vehicle that homicide detectives are trying to identify and find the owner of.
