Unidos Delivers Holiday Cheer

The Dallas Police Department’s Unidos Team geared up again for their 2nd Annual Christmas Toy Drive. We are so grateful to our sponsors, Med Alert and the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association, who provided the toys and other needed items to families throughout the city of Dallas. There were well over 100 families identified by Neighborhood Police Officers from each patrol division who saw their needs and entered their names to be considered. Each family will receive their gift box just in time for Christmas.

Helping make the deliveries were volunteers from the Comadres Unidos, members of Bad Boyz Kustoms, and members of the department’s Office of Community Affairs. Also assisting in the delivery were Dallas County Trustee Diana Flores and former Councilmember Monica Alonzo. Flores and Alonzo were presented with special recognition for their continued support of the Unidos Program.

“The joint effort of everyone coming together is what not only makes this event success, but it’s what also brings smiles to the children we help in our communities,” said Sergeant Eddie Reyes, DPD Unidos.

There will be a lot of happy faces come this holiday weekend, thanks to the overwhelming support from our donors, volunteers, and members of the community who gave their time and effort to bring a little holiday cheer to those in need. The Dallas Police Department also wants to send a big shout-out and appreciation to Bad Boyz Kustoms who donated the parts and labor needed to get the DPD low rider vehicle up and running…You Rock!!! Happy Holidays and Be Safe.
