On January 13, 2022, Suspect Matthew Bradley Smith was arrested for Manslaughter and Accident Involving Death (FSRA).

The victim has been identified as a 57-year-old/male, Dil Chainy.

On January 1, 2022, at approximately 12:00 a.m., the pictured vehicle was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident at 2600 Commerce Street. The male victim was standing in the left-center of the road watching fireworks when the suspect vehicle, traveling the wrong way on Commerce Street and with no headlights, struck the victim. The suspect fled the location last seen going north on North Good Latimer Expressway. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect vehicle is a gray 2017 Ford F150, TX LP MWL-6627. Vehicle Crimes Detectives are searching for the pictured vehicle.
