Today, Dallas Police Officer Sarah Sandoval was named January’s Officer of the Month by the Meeting Professionals International at a luncheon that was held at The Warwick Melrose Hotel. She was recognized for the hard work, tenacity and dedication that she exhibits every time she puts on her Dallas police uniform.
Officer Sandoval is a 3-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department who is currently assigned to the Northwest Patrol Division. She is known to her fellow coworkers as one who is easy to work with and one whose work ethics exemplifies her ability to be a strong leader and a team member in the same breath. Officer Sandoval excels in the arena of police work whether it be answering a common call for service or focusing and working through a high-stress situation. According to her direct supervisor, Dallas Police Sergeant James Shivers, “She has shown that she is dependable by volunteering countless times to help her fellow officers search their female prisoners when called upon. Her calm demeanor has been instrumental in keeping situations from escalating and ending in a peaceful outcome.”
Officer Sandoval is a proud member of the Dallas Police Honor Guard which is a voluntary assignment that requires officers to represent the department with the highest standards of professionalism and décor. In the Honor Guard, she serves as one of the selected few trumpeters that have the distinct honor of playing TAPS at various memorial services and ceremonies.
