Homicide on Floyd Street

Update: March 5, 2021

On March 3, 2022, at approximately 1:44 p.m., the suspect pictured above shot and killed the victim causing their death. Nicholas Glenn Fields was identified as a suspect in the offense and an arrest warrant has been issued.

The Suspect, Nicholas Fields, a 30-year-old white male,  is wanted for this homicide.

On Thursday, March 3, 2022, at approximately 1:47 p.m., Dallas Police Officers were dispatched to the park located at the 3000 block of Floyd Street for a shooting call.  Upon arrival, they saw the victim an unknown White male that appeared to be in his 50s lying on the sidewalk suffering from several gunshot wounds to the chest.  Dallas Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The suspect, an unknown White male approximately 30-years-old was seen by witnesses walk up to the victim and shoot him three times in the chest for an unknown reason.  There was not an argument or confrontation that occurred prior to the shooting.  The witnesses followed the suspect several blocks before losing him in an alley.

Both individuals are homeless.  The victim’s identification is pending fingerprint analysis from the Dallas County Medical Examiner office.  Detectives are working with the homeless shelters to try to identify the suspect.

This is an ongoing investigation.  The motive and circumstances for this murder are unknown at this time.
