DPD Named Finalist for the Smart Cities North America Awards

(DALLAS) International Data Corporation (IDC) Government Insights selected the Dallas Police Department as a finalist in the Fifth Annual Smart Cities North America Awards. Finalists include cities, states, counties, and universities from across the country. The Department submitted its “Violent Crime Evidence-Based Reduction Plan” in the Data-Driven Policing category as their Smart Cities Project. IDC publicly announced today in a press release all the finalist and their respective categories.

As a next step in the nomination process, IDC invites the public to vote on the named finalist by going to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SCNAA22. Voting will be open from March 7, 2022, through 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2022. The winners will be honored at Smart Cities Connect being held in April 2022 in Columbus, OH.

The Dallas Police Department would be proud to represent the city in this prestigious award. Members of the community, the City of Dallas, and the hardworking men and women of the Department worked extremely hard to make this city safe and will continue our ongoing crime-fighting efforts.
