On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at approximately 4:07 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting call in the 3800 block of East Illinois Avenue.  Dallas Fire-Rescue found the victim Shanique Shameion Alex, a 25-year-old black female sitting in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to her upper back.  She was transported to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.  A witness, who was a passenger, was injured, and he remains in the hospital in stable condition.
