Update: April 7, 2022
On April 7, 2022, Dallas Police arrested Manuel Tellez, 45, of Grand Prairie, for Murder.
On April 3, 2022, at approximately 9:18 a.m., Dallas Police responded to 1330 Kings Highway for a call regarding a body in the alleyway. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and located the male victim who had also been burned. The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Anthony Moreno.
A preliminary investigation has determined that early on April 3, Tellez stabbed Moreno multiple times in an alley behind 1330 Kings Highway, killing Moreno. Tellez left the scene, changed clothing, and then returned to the scene where he poured gasoline on the victim, then lit his body on fire.
Tellez was taken into custody by Southwest CRT and Deployment. He was transported to Police Headquarters to be interviewed, then to Dallas County Jail.

On Sunday, April 3, 2022, at approximately 9:18 a.m., Dallas Police responded to 1330 Kings Highway for a call regarding a body in the alleyway. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and located the male victim who had also been burned. The Dallas Police Homicide Unit, Dallas Fire Arson Unit and Crime Scene Response processed the scene.
The Dallas Co. Medical Examiner’s office will utilize forensic techniques to determine the victim’s identity. At the time of his death, the victim was wearing boots, jeans, a dress shirt, and a wedding ring on his left hand.
The motive and circumstances surrounding this murder are under investigation.
