On April 13, 2022, at approximately 8:16 p.m., a 53-year-old female was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe in an apartment complex located in the 4100 block of Delafield Lane. The driver of the Tahoe was attempting to pass a parked ice cream truck when a 2-year-old child, who was running towards the ice cream truck, appeared and was struck by the driver of the Tahoe.  The driver of the Tahoe stopped as soon as she realized what had occurred.  The child was transported to Children’s Medical Center where he subsequently died from his injuries.

Although this accident remains under investigation, charges are not expected at this time. This incident is documented on case numbers 64902-2022 and 64945-2022.
