On April 16, 2022, at approximately 2:09 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call at 4525 Elsie Faye Heggins.  Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Eric Barber, a 45-year-old male, suffering from a single gunshot wound.  Dallas Fire and Rescue responded and transported him to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.  Witnesses at the scene provided officers with a description of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle. Officers later found the suspect’s vehicle, a white Chrysler 200, parked at 4722 Meadow. The suspect Shamkea Khalid, a 41-year-old female, was then arrested for the murder of the victim.
